Our colleague Daan had the pleasure of congratulating Siew Lian of TEHO Ropes USA for the acquisition of a new warehouse and office in Houston on behalf of the colleagues of TEHO Ropes Europe. The visit of Daan to Houston is part of our exchange program to share and develop ideas, working methods and business culture between our European and American subsidiaries. TEHO Ropes USA is well-established as a major provider of rigging, mooring, lifting and safety systems in Marine, Offshore O&G and Construction industries. The high performance Magnaro Aramid® rope is a custom-made mooring rope which is often selected to perform in very hot areas of the world. Where conventional high performance ropes significantly lose strength around 50°C which can lead to life threatening situation, the Magnaro Aramid® rope withstands temperatures up to 427° C. In addition, the Magnaro Aramid® mooring rope has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, low snap back and negligible creep. In cooperation with Teijin, TEHO Ropes supports a recycle program in which a used Magnaro Aramid® mooring rope is bought back after its service life time resulting in reducing the environmental footprint.

The MAGNARO®-Float is a mixed rope of high tenacity polyolefin and high performance polyester. This composite ropes combines strength with impressive abrasion resistance. TEHO Ropes Europe and BioBTX have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on the recycling of end-of-life mooring ropes used in shipping. In the past months, BioBTX and TEHO ROPES Europe, together, have collaborated successfully in the upcycling possibilities of end-of-life mooring ropes into drop-in chemicals (also known as BTX), of which new, durable, and high-performance plastics can be produced. At TEHO Ropes, we always wants to offer our customers the best and most sustainable mooring solutions possible. By taking back the end-of-life mooring ropes and enabling their recycling, the maritime industry fulfils its obligation to society. Teho International Inc Ltd (“TEHO International”) wholly owned subsidiary, TEHO EuRope B.V. (“TEHO ROPES Europe”) and BioBTX B.V. (“BioBTX”) wholly owned subsidiary, PCP B.V. (“PCP”) have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) to cooperate in recycling end-of-life mooring ropes for shipping. Both companies commit themselves to create a circular value chain in which the used mooring ropes from TEHO ROPES Europe is reused to produce high value drop-in chemicals by BioBTX. TEHO Ropes & Supplies Pte. Ltd. first attained the Singapore Quality Class (SQC) in January 2017 and after our most recent  Business Excellence (BE) exercise we have successfully renewed our certification. The Business Excellence Awards recognise organisations for outstanding management capabilities and world-class standards of performance. The BE framework assessment tools helped us to benchmark and improve our performance and formulate a strategic roadmap. BE certifications are a trust mark for an organisation towards its suppliers, customers and the general public and will further boost our competitiveness, not only locally but also overseas.  

TEHO Ropes is further expanding its global operations with the set-up of a new subsidiary in Busan, Korea. From our local office and warehouse we are now able to supply our MAGNARO® fibre ropes, rope protectors and other items to all Korean Ports and Ship Yards and to the main Japanese and Chinese Ports. This is another important step in the further internationalisation of our Ropes business, whereby we are now able to reach customers in the world’s most important ports through our offices and warehouses in Singapore, Houston, Rotterdam, Shanghai and Busan and our logistics points in Dubai (UAE), Algeciras (Spain) and Panama.

TEHO International (USA) LLC has earned ISO 9001:2015 certification for its Quality Management System. “Earning ISO 9001:2015 certification was a rigorous and thorough process, requiring the engagement of our entire organization. This achievement represents strong, third-party validation of TEHO International’s commitment to providing the highest quality products and services to our customers across the world,” said Siew Lian Soare, President and CEO of Teho International (USA) LLC. Maintaining certification will require comprehensive audits by the internal management team and validation by Perry-Johnson Registrars, a third-party certifying body to ensure compliance with the standard.  General Manager Robert Renton looks forward to the challenge. “We view the ISO standard as an overlay to our entire management framework, adding quality metrics, and both internal and external oversight of our processes.  Implementation was only possible with the enthusiastic participation of all of our employees, and I am very proud of each of them,” Renton stated.
